Birding Events with Dad this Father’s Day

From baseball games to bowling, fishing to golf, Father’s Day is a time to hang out with Dad and do all the things he loves. This year, celebrate Dad and make him feel extra special by taking him to one of these fun-filled birding events. With canoe trips, birding presentations, and nature hikes, these engaging activities are exactly what Dad wants this year. So ditch the ties & socks, and show Pops some love this Father’s Day by giving him the gift of birding and spending time with you.

For the third year in a row, the Audubon Society of Greater Denver in partnership with Hawkquest, is offering the annual Father’s Day Falcon Fest. Attendees can bring a picnic dinner to the outdoor amphitheater and enjoy a fantastic show featuring live falcons and birds of prey. There will be plenty of photo opportunities, so be sure to bring your camera!

The Chicago Botanic Garden presents the annual Father’s Day Canoe Adventure. This rare opportunity allows participants to canoe the lakes of the Chicago Botanic Garden while admiring the numerous herons, ducks, small fish, turtles and frogs along the way in the watery habitat. Participants don’t need to have any canoeing experience and everything from canoes and life jackets to paddles and instruction are included. Just bring your dad and get ready to have a great time!

This Father’s Day weekend join bird watchers from 29 continental states, and British Columbia to participate in tours, seminars, and other activities during the annual Potholes and Prairie Birding Festival.
