But did you know that many of our products are also kind to the planet? Let’s talk about how recycling and eco-friendly materials play a big role in what we do—and how they can make a difference in your backyard and beyond.

♻️ Why Eco-Friendly Matters
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a lifestyle. Choosing products made fromrecycled or renewable materialshelps reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect wildlife habitats. And when you shop with JCS Wildlife, you’re not just buying quality gear—you’re investing in a greener future.
🌲 Cedar Wood: Nature’s Durable Gift
- Naturally rot-resistant: Cedar stands up to the elements without needing chemical treatments.
- Renewable resource: Responsibly harvested cedar helps maintain healthy forests.
- Biodegradable: When its time is up, cedar returns to the earth without a trace.
Plus, it smells amazing. Seriously—have you ever sniffed a fresh cedar birdhouse? It’s like nature’s cologne.

🔥 Cedar Scraps Turned Kindling
We don’t let good wood go to waste! AtJCS Wildlife, we collect thecedar wood scrapsleft over from building birdhouses and feeders and repurpose them asall-natural kindling.
Perfect forcampfires, fire pits, or cozy cabin fireplaces, our cedar kindling is easy to light, smells great, and gives those leftover pieces a second life outdoors.

🪵 Poly Lumber: Recycled Plastic with a Purpose
- Made from post-consumer waste: Every poly lumber product helps keep plastic out of landfills.
- Low maintenance: No painting, staining, or splinters—just rinse and go.
- Long-lasting: Poly lumber products can last for decades, reducing the need for replacements.
At JCS Wildlife, we use poly lumber in many of our bird feeders and houses. It’s eco-friendly, durable, and looks great in any backyard setup.

🔁 Closing the Loop: Recycling Poly Lumber Scraps
We take sustainability a step further byreturning our poly lumber scrap materials—left over from crafting birdhouses and feeders—back to the manufacturer. These scraps are thenrecycled and reusedto make new poly lumber products.
It’s part of our commitment to azero-waste production process. Instead of tossing leftover pieces, we make sure they get a second chance to become something useful again. It’s like reincarnation, but for bird feeder parts. And on a side note - by them time we pay our team to prepare the poly scrap for recycling, then add the shipping charges to get it back to the manufacturer, we do not make any money for this effort. We do it because we feel it's the right thing to do!

It’s a win-win: less waste, more sustainability, and a whole lot of shredded cardboard confetti (which, let’s be honest, is kind of satisfying).
So when you open your next package and see that shredded cardboard, know it’s part of our mission to reduce waste and keep things green.
