Description
Bring more birds, and more variety to your backyard with the JCS Wildlife XL Poly Lumber Platform Ground Feeder. With its extra-large, open feeding area and approximately 16-cup seed capacity, this spacious ground bird feeder provides plenty of room for multiple birds to feed comfortably at the same time.
Constructed from durable recycled poly lumber, this feeder is built for year-round outdoor use. Unlike traditional wood, poly lumber won't rot, crack, split, or require painting or staining. Its clean, attractive appearance also blends naturally into gardens, landscaping, patios, and other backyard spaces.
Extra-Large 16-Cup Feeding Area
The generously sized removable seed tray holds approximately 16 cups of bird seed, making this an excellent choice for feeding a wide variety of backyard birds. Fill it with sunflower seed, mixed bird seed, peanuts, cracked corn, or your birds' favorite blend.
The open platform design gives birds plenty of room to land, perch, feed, and move around without feeling crowded. Its low-profile ground placement is especially appealing to species that naturally prefer feeding at or near ground level.
Easy-to-Clean Removable Seed Tray
Keeping your bird feeder clean is simple. The removable seed tray lifts out for easy cleaning and refilling, while drainage holes in the bottom allow rainwater to escape instead of collecting around the seed. Better drainage helps keep bird seed drier and fresher between refills.
More Than a Bird Feeder
The large, open design can also attract other backyard wildlife. Depending on your area, you may see squirrels, rabbits, deer, raccoons, and other wildlife stopping by for a snack.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much bird seed does the JCs Wildlife XL Ground Feeder hold?
The JCs Wildlife XL Ground Feeder features an extra-large capacity that holds approximately 16 cups of bird seed. This massive feeding area allows you to offer large volumes of food at once, which reduces how often you need to head outside to refill the station.
What types of bird seed can be used in this platform feeder?
This highly versatile platform feeder is compatible with a wide range of bird food options. You can fill the extra-large tray with black oil sunflower seeds, striped sunflower seeds, mixed wild bird seed, whole or shelled peanuts, cracked corn, or custom fruit and nut blends.
What types of birds and wildlife does a ground platform feeder attract?
Because this feeder sits directly on the ground, it mimics natural foraging environments. It is ideal for ground-feeding birds like doves, cardinals, jays, towhees, sparrows, juncos, and thrashers. Because of its open, accessible design, it can also attract other backyard wildlife such as squirrels, rabbits, deer, and raccoons.
How do you clean the seed tray on this extra-large bird feeder?
Maintenance is quick and convenient thanks to the removable seed tray that lifts directly out of the main poly lumber frame. You can easily remove the tray to dump out old seed husks, rinse it down with a hose to eliminate bacteria, dry it, and drop it back into place without moving the entire unit.
Does the seed tray have drainage to prevent mold and water buildup?
Yes. The removable seed tray is engineered with built-in drainage holes across the bottom. These holes allow rainwater and melting snow to escape immediately rather than pooling around the food, keeping your bird seed significantly drier and fresher between refills.
What is poly lumber and will it rot or crack outdoors?
Poly lumber is an eco-friendly material made entirely from recycled plastic. Unlike traditional wood feeders, poly lumber absorbs zero moisture, meaning it will never rot, crack, split, warp, or peel. It completely eliminates the need for seasonal painting, sealing, or staining, and maintains a clean look year-round.
What are the physical dimensions of the XL Ground Feeder?
This extra-large, heavy-duty platform feeder measures 9" Height x 18" Depth x 26.5" Width, providing an exceptionally wide footprint that allows multiple large birds or animals to feed comfortably at the same time without feeling crowded.
