Because this luxury mansion is a substantial, heavy-duty build, we highly recommend completing the tree installation with a helper nearby.
- Tree Selection: Securely mount the house on a mature tree trunk that is at least 10 inches in diameter. Choosing a location adjacent to hardwood trees or mature nut-producing trees (like oak, walnut, or hickory) is highly ideal.
- Installation Height: For maximum safety from ground threats, install the box 12 to 30 feet high in the tree trunk. Lighter residential setups can also see success mounted between 4 to 10 feet high.
- Property Placement: Choose a quiet, low-traffic area of your yard away from busy roads, loud driveways, and heavy foot traffic.
- Pro-Tip for Fast Attraction: Place a generous handful of raw whole peanuts, walnuts, or striped sunflower seeds inside the entrance way to help foraging squirrels discover their new home quickly.
⚠️ Important Setup & Winter Notes: Connect the camera to the Bird Lover app and ensure the power switch is ON before enclosing it on the roof.
