It seems this formula lasts longer than what's made with regular table sugar. In other words it doesn't seem to ferment giving that slimy feel to the inside of the feeder, even after more than one day in hot temps. We've also noticed the hummers seem satisfied longer so are visiting the feeders less often than before, an economical plus. 😍

I love the products from Pine Tree Farm. This particular suet I tested against their regular peanut one, and the birds in my area preferred it just slightly over the other one. I use it in an upside down suet feeder with log jam slots. I have no issues breaking this up and stuffing it in the slots, and it stays very well.

These cylinders are a huge success for all the feathered friends! So happy that the squirrels don’t even try anymore

In early May of 2026, I purchased a case of the Pine Tree Farms Mealworms 72 oz Cylinders for my birds to eat. Birds love this product, especially in the Spring months, since they are looking for bugs and worms to feed to their young. The cylinder lasts on average for approximately 4 days before it is completely consumed. Whenever I receive this product from JCs Wildlife, I am always very pleased, as it is crisp and fresh whenever I open it. Great job JCs Wildlife on how well that you store your products. I value your company very much.

The cylinder arrived intact and did not fall apart in the feeder like some do. The birds definitely prefer this over the white safflower seed and allows us to offer a variety of options to the local birds. I'd love to see cardinals eating from it, but they're the one bird that consistently snubs all of our seed cylinders in favor of loose seed.

Assembly was quick and easy, but putting it up required two of us to get it into the ground and level. It's definitely sturdy, holding up very well to the spring and summer storms we've had so far. We have four medium-sized feeder set-ups on there and the only issue we've run into is that the little bolts holding up the hanging loops need to be checked and tightened periodically, but it's easy and takes no time at all. The birds love their feeding station and nothing else has been able to get at the feeders so far.

While the cylinder arrived intact and the seeds seemed fresh, this cylinder received the least traffic among those we put out. Birds can't taste the capsaicin, but maybe putting it on the cylinder alters the texture of the seed or something else about it? We don't have squirrel issues right now, so we'll stick to the other types of cylinders and keep this one in our back pocket just in case.

The cylinder arrived intact and the seeds seemed fresh and plump. It was offered among a mix of other cylinders with bugs, nuts, fruit, and sunflower hearts and still got traffic, which definitely says something.

The seed cylinder itself arrived looking and smelling fresh, with plump seeds, and was in great condition, but was the least favorite in the yard by vote of beaks, compared to the bugs/nuts/berries, no mess fruit blend, and golden safflower cylinders. As we haven't had issues with squirrels trying to get at the cylinders yet, we're opting for the non-hot blends for now. If the squirrels do decide to come for the cylinders, we'll add these hot ones back into the mix.

Great feeder. Hummingbirds love it. Easy to take apart and clean. I have 3 feeders - each that hold different amounts of sugar water.
They are so much fun to watch as they enjoy and chase each other.

I have been ordering this product regularly for at least a year now & it's awesome! My finches love it. It's the only seed option which makes it nearly impossible for bully birds to eat it. Even the sparrows can't feed from it. Extra bonus: whatever falls to the ground is quickly eaten up by the wild quail that frequent my yard.

Love that this bag is so easy to open and close - It has a zip to tear and the squirrels LOVE the nuts.

Love this birdseed! It lasts a few weeks so I don’t have to refill often, and wards off those pesky squirrels. Only downside is that it does seem to loosen/fall apart after heavy rains, even with a weather shield.

Smaller cylinders typically last about 5-7 days here in central FL during mid-summer. I really appreciate having the option to mix up the cylinder types for our feathered friends.
